RE: Check Your Load Center Wiring - *WARNING*

This is more common than people think. It usually happens when a very heavy load is placed on a circuit.(electric heater) The constant expansion/contraction of the copper wire can eventually loosen the screw, create a lot of heat. I have seen nuetral buss bars completely melted. It's a good idea to check them periodically.

RE: Electrical Short

Fantastic fan also has a fuse in the frame near the screen. Take that out and do an elimination process. After identifiying the failed component, (fan or furnace) then you will need to find the short. I once found an errant screw that was laying against the sail switch spade connector causing a short. It could be anywhere. Good luck.

RE: atwood hot water heater problems

Your winterizing by-pass vavles are probably in the winterized position. try turning all by-pass valves and see if that works.

RE: Remote control AC conversion to hard wired?

If you want a wall t-stat for your Carrier you will have to change the ceiling unit to part number 99-00469-22. Then you will have to run wires from the ceiling unit to the wall t-stat (pn 1110-421). You cannot use your current ceiling unit with a wall t-stat.

RE: propane not working after recall service

The tech porbably forgot to turn the gas back on at the gas valve near the burner. Easy mistake to make. I did it once and remembered when I was a few miles away and had to turn around and go back. Take the Sheet metal that covers the burner area off and turn the small brass screw 1/4 turn until the slot is paralell with the gas line.

RE: Difficult to replace Gas Cntrl Valve for Atwood Wtr Heater?

Well, at 13 years old I would think it might be a good idea to consider a new one. And yes, it is difficult to change out unless you have the special tool. It costs about $25 for the tool and about $100 for the gas control valve. New WH pilot model is about $300 if you shop around.

RE: Our black tank problems.......

The black tank is SUPPOSED to be for the toilet only. But that is not always the case. Lazy, incompetent workers at the factory will plumb it anyway that is easy. I have seen showers plumbed into the balck tank. I have seen kitchen sinks and washing machine drains plumbed into the black tank. Keystone is famous for this.

RE: Foreigners at large in Oregon

The entier Oregon coast is spectacular. You could go from Portland, do the Columbia gorge, then down the middle to Mt. St. Helens, then to the coast back up to Portland. With only two weeks I wouldn't even think of leaving Oregon. You don't want to spend all your time driving.

RE: Removable awning

All you need to do is get tarp material and sew a 1/4" nylon cord into one side so you can slide it into the "j" rail. You should be able to get the nylon cord from an awning manufacturer.

RE: ? about the fridge

One hour with an empty firg will not do it. If empty it will take 6 to 10 hours to cool depending on the size of the frig. Fill it with cooled food and beverages and it will cool faster.

RE: Converter problem?

garry1p...not correct. If you test the converter output with the battery connected you will read the highest of the two. They must both be tested wilst they are disconnected.

RE: Help...Dometic refer not cooling at all

If your flue is "very warm to the touch" and the coils are ambient temp: You probably have a blocked cooling unit and it will need to be replaced. On a side by side it is so expensive to replace the cooling unit you might as well buy a new frige. Any yellow powdery residue anywhere? Especially at the burner?
